Waitawheta Camp Facilities

Kitchen

• The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering
• Electric stove plus 4 x gas rings
• Walk in chiller
• 2 fridges, 1 deep freeze ( extra fridge in hall kitchen )
• 3 ovens, including two large commercial fan-bake ovens
• Steriliser
• Commercial toaster
• Crockery, cutlery, pots, baking dishes & bowls supplied
• 2 microwaves

Dining Room

Adjoining the kitchen, the dining room seats up to 100. We have long wooden tables and bench seats. The room opens onto a large sunny deck area looking onto the grassed playing area and action tower.

The Hall

The hall is the Waitawheta War Memorial hall which has been relocated from Franklin Road.

It has a small stage and 2 bunkrooms that each sleep 6. The Hall was renovated in 2012 with a new roof and painted inside and out. We have table tennis and carpet bowls available.

Ablutions

There are two separate toilet blocks at each end of the dormitories and a separate shower block.

Laundry

We have a coin-operated washing machine and dryer.

Disability Access

The entire camp is situated on fairly level ground with concrete walkways to all buildings. We have separate male and female disability access shower / toilets. One of the dormitories has a wheelchair ramp. There is ramp access to the kitchen / dining area.
